    LUNCH 2007-2008

To: Students, Parents, Teachers and Administrators

Thank you for your support of the school lunch program at Blessed Trinity this year. We continue to try and stay ahead of the school food curve with both expanded offerings and nutritional balance, while also being mindful of the cost factor. We are pleased to inform you that we will be managing the school lunch program at Blessed Trinity for the 2007-08 school year. Starting in the fall all menus will be approved by a Registered Dietician, and all menus will be trans fat free. We also plan to have a greater use of both fresh fruit and vegetables in our menus. We have many new and exciting offerings for the next school year.

As many parents can appreciate the price of food has increased rather dramatically over the past 1-2 years. There are many factors, most related to the price of fuel, which affects so many of our food products. Therefore, effective with the school year we are increasing prices .25 (twenty five cents) per lunch. A lunch ticket book will now cost $16.25.

In addition, we have received a great deal of feedback regarding the irregular size of the pizza slices. Some students have felt their portions are not equitable. Therefore, we are moving to one large uniform slice per student, maintaining the same portion size as in prior years. We will maintain the same high quality product, but ensuring fair and equitable portions for all.

We thank everyone for their support of the lunch program at Blessed Trinity. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to seeing everyone at orientation.

    Sincerely,
    SLA Management
